Dress With Sneakers | Fashion Inspiration 2014 | Street Style India

Wednesday, 26 February 2014 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Spring's hottest street style combo is a dress with a sneaker, and I decided to step up my dress look just a smidge and brought these canvas shoes to notice. So If they match Stylistically or color wise, I would say go for it though I am not sure how i feel about the more sportier looking trainers ? Sometimes its the most unlikely things which makes the best combo, and this uncanny cool character which seems to be actually purifying a trend only to be embraced and make a fashion week wave. Not aesthetically appealing but surely they have an enthusiastic wearable appeal . Chanel recently sent haute couture sneakers down the runway, with the whole fashion fraternity talking about it.-So  go ahead and give those back breaking stilettos some rest. Score- I say :)
This Champagne- sand colored jacket was sent over by Rosegal.com .It has a PU lining inside and a slant zipper, which makes it perfect for this kind of early spring charm dressing. It looks and feel more expensive than what it actually costs.  Shipping was pretty fast(12 days) and the item matched the description.Definitely a site to check out, since I found their stuff trendy without being too mainstream.
I got a chance to meet Shilpi from Pink jasmine Styling, who was on her holiday to India, last week. She is a great blogger, with lovely smile and some ideal fashion aesthetics and a new mommy to adorable twins. We discussed things we had in common- ie blogging, and talked about a few other amazing bloggers who leaves us both inspired.

Rock Studs And Mickey Mouse Print | Delhi - Street Style

Friday, 21 February 2014 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

In case you missed the bombardment on my IG feed about the Cosmo/max event, then this blog post could be for you. I wore this outfit to the Cosmopolitan and Max Fashion Icon Delhi Finale which was held at The Kila, Delhi. It was my first time visiting this place, and I assumed it would be freezing as the fashion show should be outdoors, and I was right. Well It's rewarding if one trust their Gut and that just saved me too from freezing in outdoors as I picked up this Wool sweater to wear.I was in a mood to emancipate the Rock Chic Glam avatar that day, and added a spike cuff to match along the Studs(diy) on my shoulder.I picked up these cute mickey print pants from Bangkok on my last trip, but couldn't find them ever in the unending chaos of my closet clutter.Later I saw them hanging when I was looking out for something else and this outfit happened.Besides unleashing the Rock chic archetype, we had a lil fun shooting these photos too ! I wiped out a whole box of rum chocolates before leaving . Hubs says it reflected in the pics ? Unshackled much ??  Do you think so too ?

Beauty Product Review- KAYA Brightening Serum

Wednesday, 19 February 2014 / , , , , ,

Uneven skin tone is a common problem for many women, and if not addressed at early stages can lead to bigger skin damage over a longer period of time .The cause is over production of melanin  and if you expose your skin more in the harsh sun, then its gonna show up and we don't want that Right?
A few weeks back I was sent this bottle of  Brightening serum with Waltheria Indica Extract by kaya Skin clinic .This Potent active Skin lightening complex is known to even the skin tone, lighten freckles and age spots as well as tends to reduce hyper pigmented areas.

How to Use- Just 2-3 drops on a cleansed face and then follow the moisturizing or make up routine.
Texture: Non fragrant, Non gooey and absorbs rapidly in the skin.
Packaging- This comes in a Pretty dropper Bottle to dispense just the right amount we need and I quite like this kind of packaging. The best part is that we can re-use these bottles.
The Result- I have a Normal skin, and my problem area is my fore head which shows signs of discoloration. I have been using this product for over 15 days and didn't expect an overnight miracle but was anticipating a brighter and healthier looking face at the end of it. Not gone through even 1/4th of the bottle yet but am amazed how this serum is working for me ! My skin looks way more clearer, lighter and softer and I only use a tiny bit.It keeps my skin looking nice and good when its On. There is a difference in the way the sun spots on my forehead looked earlier and now.
Not a facelift kind of a product But the thing is I do not have to use extra to conceal the spots, just the regular sweep of foundation covers well for me.

Price/Availability- MRP Rs. 1490 for 30 ml  Available at all Kaya outlets.
Overall Rating- 10/10 and definitely a keeper for me .

Indo Western Ways to Wear A Sari

Thursday, 13 February 2014 / , , , , , , , , , , ,

I got these photos clicked just before heading out for a wedding. I am not at all a Sari person ;rather you can call me a typical  fuddy-duddy stereotype women who gets away in a suit/churidar whenever there is an urgent demand to dress up in an ethnic wear n that's about it ! I can be counted as one of those Indian women who get intimidated at the mere thought of wearing a sari ! I own approx eight sari's mostly in brocade n kanjeevaram which were handed over forcefully by my mom, after giving me a whole culture appropriate talk  #mouthshut.
Recently my blogger friend  Aditi from So- Saree  mailed me about a blog feature on the theme Sari. I gulped in a chunk of thought and decided to redeem a few of my precious Saris my mother passed on so lovingly, and do a style post for her !
Sari for me is too constraining, and I got a lil spooked out to wear a blouse, especially when I had to put up with numbing days and arctic cold last month . Well ,when necessity becomes the mother of all inventions, I decided to bring more fun and alternate the blouse with my Zara turtle neck to give it a more indo western spin and a Bindi fix to work some Desi girl magic around and speak the language of elegance.
You will find the same post on Aditi's blog too.

5 Best Colors for your Valentines Day Outfit | Valentines Makeup| hairstyles

Sunday, 9 February 2014 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

I might have offended a few of you about my brassy take on Valentines day in last year post. I still look at this day as a day of manufactured or induced romance and  an easy peg spawned by the retailers to sell more Roses and Chocolates in the world- There are far more important things to celebrate later on in a relationship.  Why would you want your relation to be lumped in with millions of other peoples ?  Total infantilism nonsense . Lets leave it here as of now !
As sane fashion bloggers , we look forward to a chance of dressing up, and I look at this day as an extra opportunity to put on my best coz  La-dee -da I have my anniversary to celebrate post Valentines, and I make sure that my man gets to let out his inner Don Juan and really go all out for me-Minus all the Pomp n splurge Except if  its a Prada -which apparently is home and I am gonna show you that soon  !
Not a supporter for this day , but Yes I Care for all that Red and Pink and all the overall girliness which radiates through a killer Valentines day ensemble ! I wore Red coz Its quintessential valentine color, white-coz it gave a more dressed up vibe and , and leopard to rebel against V-day stereotypes.

These Leopard pumps were sent over by Sammydress.com. They have a huge collection of stylish pumps and boots and clothes just served on a big platter. There are plethora of options to choose from their accessories section too , which  just drove me crazy. Shipping was quick, and the pumps were safely packed . Next time you fumble or if on a tight budget, you might wanna give them a try !

Cropped Jacket Trends for Spring 2014

Monday, 3 February 2014 / , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Trends which are Simple , Practical and Comfortable always catch my eye first. Some are easily worn than others, while some takes a lot of spirit and challenge to Pull off (cropped top for some) ! After witnessing Cut back pants and flared jeans, its now the turn of the cropped boxy jackets to find our way into our closets ! A good jacket can be paired with your favorite jeans, or skirts or dresses ! I feel these jackets  kind of have a very hard rock edge with a lady like sophistication, allowing a lot of room for a next level of layering to flourish ! I had been Vying for something quite similar from Thakoon's Spring/Summer 14 collection and I got a little Jazzed up when I saw this Jacket on Dresslily.com and could already think of creating Varied looks from this ! Its got nice bomber panels on the sides, and a bit of wool in the center. It was my first time ordering from this website, and was quite amazed seeing the rock bottom prices for a lot of trendy stuff which could immediately update any budget girl style quotient in a Tick !

Keeping myself warm- Ahoy !!
