Simple Ways to Save Money on Your Wedding Guest Outfit

Monday, 28 September 2015 /

Recently one of my close friend is invited for a wedding in UK, and I have been helping her shop all week.Heard from them that they opted for UK ,with an overnight hotel stay. The whole drama and wedding concepts are so easy to figure in their country with this kind of service, which I am hearing for the first time. Loved the whole concept and so unlike our country where things have to be sorted manually.

It got a bit crazy, for me and so confusing for to help her. I ended up giving her whole lot of tips and to the family too, which I didn't know my brain could churn. Since it also has the probability to forget, let me document everything you need to know before planning any wedding , be it here or overseas.
When it comes to wedding we all are probably fully aware that there are going to be a number of costs involved. Depending on the wedding that you’ve been invited to you may be able to get away with spending the minimum amount, or you may need to shell out a decent amount of money for outfits, gifts for the bride and groom, transport etc.
Wedding guest outfits don’t come cheap especially if you’re planning on looking your best for the occasion. Since weddings are all about spending, let me go the other route and put together a list of great ways in which you can save some money on  your wedding outfits.

Sales and Outlets

If you’re looking for a designer outfit, you’re likely going to have to pay a large amount of money for it if you’re shopping brand new. In order to cut the price tag down, the best thing that you can do is shop around online sales and designer outlets where you can find a great range of different clothes or brand new and at a fraction of the price. Most online clothing stores will always have some sort of sale on, and you can find clothes, shoes and other accessories at reduced prices. Although this might take a bit more searching than simply walking into a store or boutique and finding something that you like, your bank account will definitely thank you.

Sell Old Clothes
If you’ve attended a few weddings in the past and have a number of designer outfits that you’ll never wear again, you may be able to get a great price for them by selling them on, depending on the condition that they’re in. Most people will be happy to buy clothes that have only been worn once or twice considering that they’re clean and in good condition, so why not put your unwanted outfits up for sale on sites such as elanic and a few other in order to raise some money to cover the cost of a new one.

Recycle
Many girls don’t like recycling their clothes – after all who wants to appear in the same outfit twice? However, if you are savvy with the clothes you buy, you can create whole new outfits by recycling them and nobody ever needs to know that you’ve actually worn the same item of clothing twice. For example, if you buy cholis and lehengas rather than dresses or gowns they are easier to mix and match in order to create whole new outfits.

Borrow
Last but not least, good old borrowing is great for saving money when it comes to getting a great wedding outfit. If you’ve got a friend or family member who’s the same size as you and has great taste in clothes, why not ask them if you can have a peek in their wardrobe to see if they’ve got anything you can wear to the wedding – just make sure that you promise to return it in one piece, especially if it’s expensive!
