AIFW2016
‘YOU CAN’T CATCH A WILD FLOWER’
Big bold flowers in all shapes and sizes, Deja Vu, tales of a 60s child advancing to today's times , swept off some gentle memoirs at the show.
Mustard magic, my kind of weekend yellow with big bold floral sunflower graphics, acid colours, lace plackets and loose silhouettes gave a free spirited vibe. The art inspired clothing line saw some loose fit pantsuits, jumpsuits and button up skirts with large utility pockets. The dresses were kept short and sweet , neat A-lines with bold accessories and briefcase bags were the highlights of the entire show.
PALLAVI MOHAN FOR AIFWSS16
Pallavi Mohan launched her label- "Not so serious " in 2007. The label boasts of some not so serious individual style statements ,and pushing the boundaries time and again .I relate to the label more , coz that's what I have been doing too- pushing my boundaries in fashion.
The designer tells a story of a little girl who plays with her Kaleidoscope , tumbling and turning , discovering new shapes and thoughts rightly interpreted as " Not so Serious "
Inspired by that, the collection saw glimpses of 3d metal cut married with sensuous organza. A lot of hand applique, on shift dresses, interesting pocket details, and sparkle and embroideredbeads. The shift dresses were nostalgic , and was the thing I most attached to the whole collection :)
