Another spring season has sprouted, and with that we finish the winter fashion circuit of 2015. On one hand some of us may get busy tucking back our woolies while on the other fashion savvy women like me find it the most viable time of the year to see and smell what's new in stores.
After ticking off last season's architecture inspired collection, this season W for Woman , a famous retail brand for women ethnic wear is back with something "UNUSUAL " with our perennial favourites in offbeat styles ,fabrics and patterns unveiled with a new twist. If you are one of those who likes to play cliche, for the heck of being safe, they want you to stop, re-think and do something off beat. And that's exactly where I spent my last Saturday, sifting through the new collection, mixing different prints and silhouettes to come up with an unusual look of our own from the latest SS16 collection at the W outlet in Select City walk , Saket ,Delhi.
I have always been selective with my Indian wear, and without the fear of sounding biased, W for Woman has always been my personal favourite brand even before my blogging days . Back then
( 10 years) when fashion was a limited affair for me, W was the only brand which resonated with my Salable preferences .
Fast forward today, it's applaudable to see how the brand has evolved with time, and never fail to present year after year of a futuristic and dynamic collection full of must-haves.
The minute I entered the store, A flash of flair, blast of colours and bold prints struck my fancy.
As W Style head "Shreya" took me around the collection , I thought it was awesome the way designer played on standard/ conventional designs and contrast it with simply adding multi hues instead of one in a colour palette we all would love our spring closet to have.
Whether through urban landscapes, or something as neat and pure as abstraction, the new elevated levels of graphics in W's new SS16 collection were pleasing to the eye. Stir this up with more effusive use of colours and you would love to take home every Piece from the collection.
The tropical prints had a new edge, and I saw the new dimension of printed kurtis introduced with stiletto length promising to give a lean and tall look the wearer. Artsy from the wishful collection, is almost wearing (He)Art on ur
It was simple, yet had cleaner lines with pretty expressive designs identifiable to most women, who obviously like to get a little more variety for their buck without skimping the look and feel of the outfit.
Of course there were churidars too, but what paved the way to Unusual were the cropped and structured trousers ready to be paired in a fresh new take with the timeless and contemporary styles of what we all call F-U-S-I-O-N, the index of Change and elements.
It is always exciting to run into bloggers, while having a lovely time together in between fashion gossips .Well that's how at least we previewed the SS16 collection for W, with the brand thoroughly catching the fashion flocks ,a.k.a bloggers imagination, asking us to create an Unusual look and report a new trend or pairing with a more broader Un-cliche'd tadka, better know to us.
Here a few fun filled moments from the store, Plus the look I created .
I am wearing an abstract/ geometry print Black White and Red Kurti with cropped pants. Draped the scarf from W in waterfall layers and pulled over the side, leaving the tassels hanging from the neck and a silver choker (not very clear in the pic). Wanted to create something chic , smart and unusual to be worn to office with minimal jewellery and without being OTT. I am glad that the shoes complimented the whole look, which earlier I was pretty enthusiastic to swap.
